Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced iOS/Swift developer to design, build, and maintain premier iOS applications in a fast-paced, Agile environment. You will translate complex requirements into robust, scalable code, contribute to automated testing, and participate in architectural decisions to ensure security, accessibility and performance across the product.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing applications for iOS.
• Strong proficiency in Swift.
• Good understanding of the iOS SDK and Apple development ecosystem.
• Experience with modern iOS development patterns and practices.
• Experience with APIs and backend integration.
• Automated testing including unit and UI testing.
• Git and modern software development workflows.
• Understanding of clean code, modularity, maintainability and version control.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving defects and performance issues.
• Desirable: Objective-C and maintaining/modernising existing Objective-C codebases.
• Desirable: SwiftUI and/or UIKit, asynchronous programming and concurrency in Swift.
• Desirable: iOS architecture, CI/CD pipelines, RESTful APIs, security and accessibility guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality iOS applications using Swift.
• Translate user and business requirements into reliable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Write clean, well-tested and maintainable code following modern iOS development practices.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, QA professionals and developers in an agile multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews and architectural decision-making.
• Develop automated tests and contribute to CI/CD processes.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues, defects and performance problems.
• Consider security, accessibility, privacy, resilience and performance throughout the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Establish and maintain development standards, patterns and best practices.
• Keep current with Apple and wider mobile technology developments.
• Support an inclusive engineering culture through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
