Acceler8 Talent is seeking an iOS Engineering Team Lead in London to oversee a growing mobile team. The role blends leadership with hands-on engineering, focusing on delivering features for a customer-facing iOS app in a fast-growing energy/EV sector.

You will manage performance reviews and hiring, mentor engineers, and partner with Product/design to turn ideas into shipped capabilities, while promoting engineering excellence and AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience delivering iOS apps using Swift, SwiftUI and Xcode.
• Proven experience directly managing engineers and leading teams.
• Experience scaling production-grade mobile applications and leading delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow an iOS engineering team, manage 1:1s, performance reviews and hiring.
• Drive delivery of new features in a production iOS app used by EV customers.
• Remain hands-on with Swift/SwiftUI and contribute to code quality.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders to ship features.
• Champion engineering best practices and the use of AI tools where appropriate.

iOS Engineering Team Lead | Up to £130k | London (Hybrid)

I'm partnering with a rapidly growing, technology-driven business that's transforming how millions of people interact with energy and electric vehicles.

They're looking for an iOS Engineering Team Lead to take ownership of a growing mobile engineering team, drive delivery and help shape the future of their customer-facing iOS application.

This isn't a role where you'll spend all day in meetings, nor one where you're expected to be the team's most senior individual contributor. It's an opportunity to combine genuine engineering leadership with hands‑on development.

The Role

• Lead and develop a team of iOS engineers, taking ownership of 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring and career progression.
• Drive delivery of new features across a production iOS application used by EV customers.
• Remain hands‑on with Swift and SwiftUI, contributing to development and code quality.
• Work closely with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders to turn ideas into shipped features.
• Champion engineering best practices, continuous improvement and the intelligent adoption of AI tools.

The split:

Approximately 60–70% leadership, people management and delivery, with 30–40% hands‑on engineering.

What We're Looking For

• Strong commercial experience developing iOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI and Xcode.
• Proven experience directly managing engineers, not just mentoring or acting as a technical point of contact.
• Experience delivering and scaling production‑grade mobile applications.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration.
• A passion for building high‑performing engineering teams while remaining technically involved.

Experience with CI/CD, Bitrise, Firebase, Datadog or Sentry would be a bonus.
