The position operates on a zero-hours basis, reporting to the Exams Manager. You will assist with room setup, monitor candidates, manage late arrivals, and help with packing and delivery of scripts, ensuring compliance with rules.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with setting up rooms by laying out stationery, equipment and examination papers in accordance with procedures.
  • Closely following and enforcing exam procedures and regulations.
  • Directing candidates to seats and advising on possessions permitted in the exam room.
  • Invigilating during examinations and handling candidate queries and examination irregularities.
  • Checking attendance during examinations and recording late arrivals.
  • Escorting candidates during examinations and supervising them outside exam rooms and during toilet breaks.
  • Collecting, collating and delivering scripts at the end of examinations in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensuring candidates do not remove equipment or stationery from the room without authorisation and leave quietly and in order.
  • Assisting with packing of examination papers, stationery and equipment and with seating plans as required.
  • Attending meetings and completing mandatory training as scheduled.

Description

Key Responsibilities

To support the Examinations staff with the day-to-day operation of examinations. This activity may include:

  • Assisting with setting up rooms by laying out stationery, equipment and examination papers in accordance with strict procedures.
  • Closely following and enforcing exam procedures and regulations.
  • Assisting candidates prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in the exam room.
  • Ensuring that candidates do not talk once inside the exam room.
  • Invigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with procedures.
  • Checking attendance during examinations.
  • Recording details of late arrivals.
  • Escorting candidates during the examination as required and supervising candidates whilst outside exam rooms.
  • Escorting candidates on toilet breaks ensuring no unauthorised material is consulted and that examination regulations are observed at all times.
  • Collecting, collating and delivering scripts at the end of the examination in accordance with strict procedures.
  • Supervising candidates leaving the exam room ensuring that candidates do not remove equipment or stationery from the room without authorisation and ensuring that candidates leave the room in an orderly and quiet manner.

To asist Examinations staff with other examination processes. This activity may include:

  • Assisting with the packing of examination papers, stationery (sometimes heavy) and equipment prior to the examinations and the delivery to and from rooms as appropriate.
  • Assisting with the preparation of seating plans.
  • Scribing for students in special circumstances.

Other:

  • Each member of the College will take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself/herself and persons who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions at work.
  • To undertake any other duties as may be assigned commensurate with the grade and overall responsibility level of the post and as changing circumstances may require.
  • To attend meetings and complete mandatory training in accordance with the colleges meeting/training schedule
Salary and Other Info

Hourly rate £13.23 per hour plus holiday pay £1.59 per hour
