Core3 have partnered with a global infrastructure investor and fund manager to hire an Investment Director.

Our client is a global infrastructure investment group that focuses on 'Green' infrastructure markets. Markets like energy transition, transport, and social/digital infrastructure. They have close to £20bn of assets under management across 3 continents.

My client manages an array of different funds, including listed infrastructure funds, private funds and social impact funds. They are well recognised for bringing private sector investment into public funds, balancing impact with bottom line results.

They also have an incredibly inclusive culture, and what stood out to me was the time we spent f2f talking through the softer skills they need in this hire, and the importance of aligning to their values.

How you'll make an impact

This is a 'growth' hire for my client, who has several impact funds under management. My client has successfully completed procurement for a brand-new impact fund and has been appointed as the fund manager. Fund establishment is actively underway, and my client is seeking to recruit a high calibre individual with deal execution and origination experience to assist on this Fund and the broader portfolio.

Due to the nature of this fund, my client needs someone who is comfortable engaging directly with sponsors/c-suite (think CEO and Founder profiles) and can build up those relationships to get the deal done. Typical deal sizes on the immediate fund will range between £5-£20mill in value.

Whilst the immediate focus for this hire is the ownership of a brand-new fund, my client has a healthy pipeline of new business, so it is expected that this person will work closely with the wider team to drive results on other investment opportunities and Impact Funds alongside this role.

• 5+ years' investment experience in the Green Infrastructure and/or Sustainable Real Estate market(s)
• Proven track record in origination and execution (mix of debt and equity)
• Public policy awareness in relation to Net Zero
• Comfortable managing a high deal volume with deal sizes between £5-20mill
• Strong relationship building skills
• Strong commercial/finance skills
• UK and/or European investment experience preferred
