Our Equity Capital Markets (ECM) team is responsible for the origination and execution of various transaction types, including IPOs, Rights Issues, ABBs/Blocks, Equity-linked instruments, and Equity Private Placements.

As an Investment Banking Associate within the UK & Ireland ECM team, you will assist in preparing origination and marketing materials to pitch new ideas and execute transactions for clients. You will be involved in ECM coverage for a variety of corporate clients across industries and work closely with other corporate finance and capital markets teams within the bank, such as investment banking coverage, industry teams, mergers and acquisitions, debt capital markets, acquisition and leveraged finance, and equity derivatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing origination and marketing materials to pitch new transaction ideas to clients. You will be involved in ECM coverage for corporate clients across industries and regions within the UK & Ireland, collaborating closely with other teams within the bank.
• Participate in the origination and execution of ECM transactions led by J.P. Morgan.
• Draft regular equity market updates for corporate clients.
• Conduct investor targeting exercises and gather investor feedback using external databases like Bloomberg and FactSet, as well as internal teams such as sales, syndicate, research, and corporate access.
• Liaise with equity syndicate, research, sales, and trading teams to gather market intelligence.
• Collaborate with corporate clients and transaction lawyers.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Excellent academic credentials.
• Ability to multi-task, organize, and work rigorously.
• Interest in capital markets and corporate finance.
• Ability to work within a team in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
• Effective interaction skills with sales, research analysts, corporate clients, and other banks.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Proficient in quantitative and analytical skills, including PowerPoint and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant investment banking experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
