Middlesbrough Council's Public Protection Service is seeking an Enforcement and Investigations Officer to join the team. You will investigate complaints, gather evidence, conduct interviews, and prepare case files to take enforcement action in line with legislation and the Council's policies.

Applicants should have strong investigative skills and a commitment to promoting compliance. A Guaranteed Interview Scheme is available for eligible applicants, and the role is based in Tees Valley.

We have an exciting role on offer within our Public Protection service as a Enforcement and Investigations Officer.

Middlesbrough Council’s Public Protection Service is passionate about improving the lives and living standards of all its residents, protecting the environment, protecting consumer interests, and supporting a strong local economy.

We are expanding our Private Sector Housing service to deliver the changes to private renting introduced by the Renters' Rights Act 2025 and drive forward our work to improve housing standards across the town.

We are seeking a highly motivated and professional Investigations and Enforcement Officer to join our team. You must have strong investigative skills and a passion for promoting and ensuring compliance with law. You will be responsible for investigating complaints, gathering evidence, conducting interviews, preparing case files, and taking appropriate enforcement action in line with relevant legislation and the Council's enforcement policies.
