Job summary

W Talent is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to own stock control, warehouse operations and inventory processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.   • Experience leading inventory and warehouse teams.
  • Proven ability to reduce stock levels and improve accuracy.
  • Experience in manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Experience with Kanban and visual management.
  • Data-driven and analytical approach to inventory performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead inventory, warehouse and dispatch operations.

  • Implement stock control methodologies and visual management.
  • Improve warehouse organisation, material flow and inventory processes.
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of MRP / inventory management systems.
  • Introduce and maintain Kanban, visual management and process controls.
  • Work closely with production and operational teams to ensure material availability and continuity of supply.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound stock movements to support production and customer delivery.
  • Ensure robust reporting and KPI tracking across inventory performance.

Job description

W Talent is delighted to be working with a fast-growing UK manufacturer, supplying the social housing, residential, healthcare, education and commercial sectors. Following continued growth and investment, including expansion into a larger manufacturing facility this year, the business is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to take ownership of stock control, warehouse operations and inventory processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who enjoys creating structure, improving visibility and implementing robust stock management processes. The role offers genuine autonomy and the chance to make a measurable impact within a business undergoing rapid transformation.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, the Inventory Manager will take responsibility for inventory accuracy, warehouse control and stock management across the manufacturing operation. Leading a small team across warehouse and dispatch, you will be tasked with improving inventory visibility, reducing waste, introducing stronger controls and implementing best practice processes to support operational performance and customer delivery. This role will suit someone who thrives in an environment where there is an opportunity to build and improve systems from a relatively blank sheet.

Key Responsibilities

Key Skills
  • Proven experience in an Inventory Manager, Stock Control Manager, Warehouse Manager or Materials Management
  • Demonstrable success in reducing stock levels and improving inventory accuracy
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of MRP / ERP systems
  • Experience implementing stock controls, visual management and process improvements
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to inventory performance
  • Experience implementing Kanban systems
  • Knowledge of warehouse and transport/logistics operations
  • Experience supporting fast-paced manufacturing operations
  • Exposure to timber, construction products, industrial or engineered manufacturing environments
Salary and Benefits
  • Salary of up to £55,000
  • Core working hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Pension scheme
