Job summary

GXO are looking for an Inventory Control Leader to join our Blyth site. You’ll be the subject matter expert for stock and systems, supporting the first line managers and wider operational team to deliver outstanding results.

This is a full time, permanent position with an ‘any 5 from 7’ shift pattern, working hours from 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00, Monday to Friday. Salary £30,593.510 per annum plus benefits including 25 days leave, pension, dental insurance, GP service, life assurance and more.

Qualifications

  • Experience with inventory and stock processes in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (JDA / Red Prairie desirable).
  • Strong MS Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Good communication, problem solving and time management abilities.
  • Flexible to be a team player or work independently, hands-on when required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, supervise and report upon the work activities of the warehouse operatives, enabling the FLM’s to provide effective communication, leadership, succession planning, motivation and training & development
  • Process stock orders, load planning, and various stock handling duties using the Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), following the correct procedures
  • Be the point of contact for any systems and stock issues, finding resolutions as a Super User
  • Investigate all stock discrepancies and establish preventative measures and best practises

GXO are looking for an Inventory Control Leader to join our B&Q site in Blyth – S81 8PU. In this key role, you’ll be the subject matter expert for all things stock and systems, supporting the first line managers and wider operational team to deliver outstanding results.

This is a full time, permanent position, where you will be working on an ‘any 5 from 7’ shift pattern, Monday to Friday. The hours of work will rotate weekly between 06:00 – 14:00 and 14:00 – 22:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • Experience of inventory and stock processes within a warehouse environment
  • Previous experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (JDA / Red Prairie highly desirable)
  • A good knowledge of MS Excel, to include pivot tables and v look ups
  • Effective communication, problem solving and time management skills
  • Able to be a team player or work independently, with the flexibility to be ‘hands on’ when required
