A leading aerospace company is seeking an Inventory Accountant to join a dynamic team in Belfast. The role involves ensuring accuracy in inventory accounting, engaging with stakeholders, and applying IFRS standards. An ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with at least 5 years of experience, proficient in SAP and able to communicate effectively across teams.
Subject to the successful closing of the transaction with Spirit, after obtaining relevant regulatory approvals
Job Summary.
The Inventory Accountant will be part of a dynamic team, working across different sites. They will work closely with the Accounting team of Airbus Operations Limited in order to deliver financial information in the most efficient way possible. It is vital that they understand the activities of the business in order to pre-empt potential issues and to identify possible errors in the data.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
Assisting with Due Diligence on the opening balance sheet;
Loading assets into SAP with the correct data attributes;
Defining and documenting key financial processes and controls; and ensuring internal controls are in place in line with Airbus ERM requirements.
Ensure robustness of goods receipting and consumption processes in the business;
Ensure accuracy of inventory on balance sheet, with accurate stock valuation of inhouse parts and WIP and appropriate provisioning;
Monthly closing and reporting of inventory levels, including stock coverage and monitoring of slow and non move stock;
Engagement with financial controllers and operational stakeholders to address inventory related issues identified;
Application of IFRS, in line with Group Accounting Policies;
oversight of key internal controls, in particular monitoring of inventory count completion, and regular reporting of risks and opportunities through the ERM tool.
ABOUT YOU.
Qualified Accountant with minimum 5 years PQE and experience of working in an accounting team;
Understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP reporting requirements;
Knowledge and experience in SAP or equivalent financial reporting tools;
Ability to work in a dynamic, enthusiastic team and to contribute with a positive, proactive mindset;
Strong communication skills â multiple stakeholders at different levels and in different countries;
Continuous improvement mindset and experience of interacting with internal and external audit teams.
