Job summary

East Sussex County Council is seeking a skilled TA3 to support teaching and wraparound care at a school. The role includes lunchtime supervision and after-school wraparound sessions, with a pro rata salary for part-time hours.

You will work 22.75 hours weekly (13.75 as TA3, 9 as Wraparound Care Assistant) during term time only, with 39 weeks of term work and 6.05 weeks of annual leave. A supportive team and comprehensive induction are provided.

Qualifications

• Skilled and enthusiastic TA3 with experience in teaching support.
• Speech and language experience is desirable but not essential.
• Applicants must provide a self‑declaration confirming they are not disqualified by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted intervention support to individuals and small groups to help them achieve their full potential.
• Adapt learning, track progress and support classroom teachers to meet learners' needs.
• Lead and support lunchtime play experiences to create a safe, inclusive environment and promote school values.
• Lead engaging after-school sessions as part of Wraparound Care Assistant duties, ensuring continuity of the nurturing ethos beyond class.
