Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking a data analytics professional to analyse intervention performance and translate findings into actionable business insights. You will extract and interrogate data with SQL, build dashboards, and support decision-making across pricing, data and analytics initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Good SQL skills and experience working with structured datasets.
  • Ability to use data to answer business, operational or customer questions.
  • Ability to evaluate trade-offs between competing objectives, constraints or outcomes.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of KPIs, measurement frameworks and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and turning business questions into structured analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse intervention performance across customer, behavioural, operational and commercial outcomes
  • Use SQL to extract, transform and interrogate datasets that support intervention decision-making
  • Build analytical views, dashboards or outputs that help teams monitor intervention activity and effectiveness
  • Apply scenario analysis, optimisation or trade-off techniques to support prioritisation and decision-making
  • Evaluate alternative intervention strategies against agreed success measures and constraints
  • Support experimentation, measurement frameworks and post-implementation reviews
  • Identify data quality issues, unexpected trends and opportunities to improve intervention processes
  • Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations for business stakeholders
  • Document assumptions, limitations and methods so outputs are transparent and repeatable

Job Details
