Job summary

JJ Food Service Limited in Manchester is seeking a Customer Service Delivery Driver (7.5t) to combine driving duties with outstanding customer service. You will deliver goods, maintain a smart appearance, and uphold safety standards while representing the JJ brand.

The role requires a Category C1 license with CPC, a Digital Tachograph Card, and a customer-focused attitude. You will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting loading/unloading and cash handling as needed.

Qualifications

• Category C1 license with no points and can drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes
• CPC to drive Category C1 vehicle
• Digital Tachograph Card required
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
• Ability to work as part of a small team and independently
• Good map reading skills and knowledge of local area
• Strong customer service focus and problem solving ability
• Able to handle documents and cash handling within policy

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods to customers at their delivery point in a polite and efficient manner
• Maintain a clean, smart appearance and represent JJ Food Service professionally
• Assist with loading and unloading and comply with health & safety training
• Follow route sequence and ensure timely deliveries within deadlines
• Collect and bank money as per payment terms, staying within cash-handling limits
• Record deliveries and sign off documents accurately; protect confidential data

Primary Responsibility

As well as deliver goods to the customers provide outstanding customer service.

Other Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and presentable appearance at all times. Represent the Company and provide excellent customer service at all levels and warm& helpful attitude. Loading and unloading, delivering goods to the customer’s delivery point in accordance with manual handling and health & safety training.

• Delivering goods in a polite manner to the customer’s delivery point including manual handling of goods up to 25kg.


• Create a work balance of being 50% driver and 50% customer service representative


• Be customer and service focused, \"face of JJ\"


• Uphold the company brand image, uniformed smart appearance with a positive attitude at all times


• Ensure that the service quality remains constantly high


• Maintain standards of cleanliness and security of your assigned vehicle.


• Maintain Health and Safety standards of your assigned lorry and staff under control


• Driving assigned vehicles to assigned customer accounts till the finish of all assigned deliveries, work to tight deadlines.


• Ensure the deliveries are completed in the timely manner


• Follow your route sequence


• Collecting and banking in accordance with payment terms and ensuring the money is secure at all times.


• Banking collected money by not exceeding £1000 with you at no times


• Ensuring that all the invoices and the relevant documents are signed by the customers and your self with the correct received amount


• Identifying counterfeit money


• Keep company mobile device charged and on at all times


• Wearing full JJ uniform and safety boots, smart and clean presentation.


• Reporting all accidents and injuries at work straight away and taking pictures of the damage as described in the employee handbook


• Obeying all traffic laws and limits


• Organising and controlling helper


• Accurately and clearly completing your taco graph (if applicable)


• Carrying out such further tasks as may from time to time be delegated by your line manager


• To ensure that the company internal/external customer care & equal opportunity policies are adhered to at all times.


• To be responsible for and ensure compliance with policies and procedures for Health & Safety


• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements.


• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the department and JJ Food Service goals.


• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Lifting

The job involves lifting of products (Ambient, chilled and frozen) with different weights up to 25 kg.

Pushing, pulling the Trolley to customer premises. (Drivers/helpers)

Operating a vehicle tail lift

Equipments

Sack barrow (Trolley) for drivers and helpers

Pump trucks (warehouse operatives, drivers and helpers)

Skills

• Category C1 License with no points and can drive vehicles up to 7.5tonne
