Job summary

The University of Kent, contributing to the newly formed London and South East (LASE) University Group, invites applications for an Internal Communications Officer. You will join the External Engagement Directorate to craft engaging internal campaigns that connect staff and students, supporting the University’s strategic objectives.

Working as part of LASE while embedded in Kent's academic division, you will develop and deliver multi-channel communications, collaborate with Schools and partners,

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
  • Substantial work experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience of writing for online or print campaigns including digital and social media.
  • Ability to manage assigned projects independently, from planning through to delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver internal communications that support strategic objectives.
  • Project managing specific student and staff communication campaigns in line with strategic objectives, including producing project plans, commissioning content and overseeing delivery.
  • Supporting ongoing communications across internal audiences, ensuring key messages are tailored for different usage and communicated accurately, including in fast-paced reactive scenarios.
  • Working collaboratively with communication staff in Schools and with the Directorate Academic School Partners, aligning activity and supporting localised delivery of both student and staff communications.
  • Monitoring, analysing and communicating the results of internal communications across the team and Directorate as required.

Are you a creative communicator with a passion for delivering engaging campaigns that connect with staff and students?

As Internal Communications Officer, you will play a key role in delivering compelling internal communications that support the University's strategic objectives. Working as part of the External Engagement Directorate, you will develop and deliver communication plans, create engaging multi-channel content and work collaboratively with colleagues across the University to ensure key messages reach the right audiences in creative, timely and effective ways.
