Job description

UK Remote | £32,500 - £45,000 + stock options worth £22,500 + Benefits | Hear from the team

Our Internal Communications Team

Operations sits at the heart of Monzo, with a small but perfectly-formed Internal Comms Team. We’re growing and changing fast, so we can create Monzo magic for even more customers. It’s important that we help our customer-facing teams understand the changes that impact them, feel engaged and informed, and see how their role contributes to Monzo’s overall success.

You’ll play a key role by…

  • Working with key stakeholders to understand changes and updates they need to land and advising and delivering on the best comms plan.
  • Representing and co-ordinating internal communications input to working groups and broader projects to ensure comms land at the right time and stakeholders understand the part they play.
  • Dealing with day-to-day comms requests. Working with owners to deliver messages in an engaging, timely way, using the right channels for their audience.
  • Working with the People Team to land key changes and engagement, ensuring our operational teams are represented consistently at a Monzo-wide level.
  • Creating comms plans with punchy, well-written comms, using our tone of voice, and messaging that ties back to our goals.
  • Keeping our Internal Comms tracker up to date to have a roadmap of what we know is happening and when. You’ll work with stakeholders so they’re aware of the pipeline and flag their requests consistently and with enough notice.
  • Working with the wider engagement team to brainstorm and build ideas - from fun virtual campaigns to recognition and events within Operations, or across Monzo as needed.
  • Co-ordinating messages and plans across domains in Operations to ensure consistency, alignment, and clarity in communications.
  • Helping produce workshops on best practice communications, including general advice, bitesize packs, and presentations for team meetings, away days, and one-off sessions with key people.
  • Creating on-brand and fun visuals and producing smart Google Slides to engage teams and share best practices with managers and leads.

We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You have internal comms experience (essential): you’ll have been working in a similar role for at least two or three years and understand best practice.
  • Writing is your thing: you enjoy it, can pull comms together quickly and accurately, and set a high bar on spelling and grammar, serving as a role model to other communicators across Monzo.
  • You’re passionate and happy to get stuck in: you’re enthusiastic about helping others in the team and beyond, embodying Monzo’s values.
  • You’re adaptable: you’re open-minded, calm under pressure, comfortable with fast pace and the unknown, and able to manage a situation to the right outcome.
  • You have leadership qualities: you’re confident in groups, giving and receiving feedback, and talking to peers and leaders at all levels.
  • You’re a self-starter, happy to take the initiative and manage your workload based on the demands of the business.
  • You have a cheerleader mentality: you get a buzz from helping others land engaging comms and love celebrating success.
  • You have high levels of emotional intelligence to create buy-in from all the right people, in the right way.
  • You’re an excellent communicator and influencer: you’ll ensure messages are clear and that everyone understands the role the Internal Comms team plays.
