Job description

We are seeking an Internal Auditor to plan and deliver a comprehensive audit programme across our Midlands and South East operations.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and getting out into the business. Around 50–60% of the role involves travel, giving you the chance to work directly with different teams, visit a range of offices and live project environments, and gain broad exposure across our operations. All business travel expenses are covered, including overnight

accommodation where required.

Working closely with both office and project teams, you’ll help strengthen compliance with our Integrated Management Systems (IMS), ensuring alignment across Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety and Information Security standards.

Rather than being desk-based in one location, you’ll have the opportunity to see how the business operates first‑hand, build relationships across multiple teams and locations, and play a visible role in driving consistency, continuous improvement and assurance across the organisation.

What you will be doing
  • Plan and deliver the internal audit programme across your region, liaising with project sites, offices and corporate services.
  • Carry out objective and consistent audits covering project management, office/business unit management, functional areas, and information security.
  • Produce clear audit reports, agree corrective and preventative actions with stakeholders, and verify close‑out of findings.
  • Analyse audit outcomes and share lessons learned, best practice, and opportunities for improvement across the business.
  • Support management reviews with audit trend data and insights.
  • Assist with incident investigations, supply chain audits, and pre‑qualification/bid support where required.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement and implementation of our Business Management Systems.
What we need from you
  • Recognized degree in a related field
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO Compliance
  • Conducting risk reviews applying qualitive scoring of risk
  • Analytical thinker
  • 2- 4 years of experience in internal audit
  • Excellent analytical, communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong technical acumen.
  • Awareness of risk and mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Problem solving and decision making with a proactive and preventative approach
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Innovative problem-solving approach.
What we can offer you
  • 26 days annual leave (with the opportunity to buy or sell up to 3 days holiday)
  • 3 additional long service days achieved after 3, 7 and 10 years
  • Private medical insurance for yourself (with the option to buy family cover)
  • Life Assurance
  • Defined contribution pension scheme matched up to 8%
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and parental leave
  • Flexible and Agile working (dependent on your role)
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Professional membership fees
  • Perks at Work Employee discount scheme offering discounts on a range of categories such as electronics, home appliances, food & groceries, car buying, travel, fitness and more
  • Flexible Benefits scheme which includes the opportunity to purchase benefits such as:
  • Critical illness insurance (with option to purchase for your partner)
  • Travel insurance
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Retail vouchers/payroll giving/activity pass for top leisure attractions.
