Job summary

Tilbury Douglas is seeking an Internal Auditor to plan and deliver a comprehensive audit programme across our Midlands and South East operations.

This role combines fieldwork with office-based analysis, offering broad exposure across our IMS and ISO standards. You’ll visit multiple sites, collaborate with teams, and drive continuous improvement and assurance throughout the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience in Internal Audit against ISO Standards.
• Ability to conduct risk reviews with qualitative risk scoring.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook.
• Able to work independently and within a team.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel (50–60%).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver the internal audit programme across your region, liaising with project sites, offices and corporate services.
• Carry out objective and consistent audits covering project management, office/business unit management, functional areas, and information security.
• Produce clear audit reports, agree corrective and preventative actions with stakeholders, and verify close-out of findings.
• Analyse audit outcomes and share lessons learned, best practices, and opportunities for improvement across the business.
• Support management reviews with audit trend data and insights.
• Assist with incident investigations, supply chain audits, and pre-qualification/bid support where required.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement and implementation of our Business Management Systems.

Job description

We are seeking an Internal Auditor to plan and deliver a comprehensive audit programme across our Midlands and South East operations.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and getting out into the business. Around 50–60% of the role involves travel, giving you the chance to work directly with different teams, visit a range of offices and live project environments, and gain broad exposure across our operations. All business travel expenses are covered, including overnight accommodation where required.

Working closely with both office and project teams, you’ll help strengthen compliance with our Integrated Management Systems (IMS), ensuring alignment across Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety and Information Security standards.

Rather than being desk-based in one location, you’ll have the opportunity to see how the business operates first hand, build relationships across multiple teams and locations, and play a visible role in driving consistency, continuous improvement and assurance across the organisation.
