Job summary

Brewer Morris is partnering with a Top 10 accountancy and advisory firm to strengthen its Internal Audit team with an Assistant Manager. You will lead engagements, manage people, and deliver technical work across a diverse client portfolio in both public and private sectors.

In this role you will interact with senior stakeholders, prepare risk-based audit plans, and drive improvements while developing junior staff in a collaborative, supportive culture that values professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must have professional accountancy qualifications or equivalent (e.g., CMIIA, CIA, ACA, ACCA).
• Experience in internal audit within professional services or in-house.
• Experience across diverse client bases and sectors.
• Strong report writing, communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Organised, commercially aware, able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support management of a portfolio of internal audit clients and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Assist in risk-based internal audit plans and annual audit programmes.
• Lead and deliver internal audit assignments from planning through reporting.
• Prepare high-quality audit reports and review junior team work.

About the Opportunity

We are partnered with a leading Top 10 accountancy and advisory firm looking to strengthen its Internal Audit team through the hire of an Assistant Manager. Main Responsibilities

• Support the management of a portfolio of internal audit clients and develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
• Assist with the preparation of risk-based internal audit plans and annual audit programmes.
• Lead and deliver internal audit assignments from planning through to reporting.
• Prepare high-quality audit reports and review the work of junior team members.
• Support client meetings, Audit Committee presentations and wider stakeholder engagement.
• Manage assignments to agreed budgets and deadlines, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
• Coach, develop and review junior members of the team.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional value to clients and support wider business development initiatives.
• Contribute to technical research, methodology improvements and wider team projects as required.

Requirements

• Professionally qualified (CMIIA, CIA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Previous internal audit experience gained within professional services or an in-house internal audit function.
• Experience working with a broad range of clients and sectors
• Strong report writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Organised, commercially aware and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• A proactive individual with a genuine interest in developing their technical and client-facing skills.
