Job summary

Freightliner Ltd in London Gateway is seeking a Transport Planner to join our award-winning planning team. You will be responsible for planning the fleet, maximise utilisation and ensuring customer satisfaction across our UK network.

You will work as part of a collaborative team, handling daily plans, negotiating timing, and supporting revenue targets while adhering to tachograph and drivers’ hours regulation. 45 hours per week, permanent, full-time with weekend rota coverage.

Qualifications

• Proven transport planning experience.
• Knowledge of tachograph, working time and drivers’ hours regulations.
• Excellent IT and communication skills.
• Strong organisational and geographical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Produce daily Transport Plan in line with customer orders and expectations.
• Utilise vehicles to maximise daily revenue targets.
• Provide new work quotations.
• Coordinate subcontractors, inductions and standards.
• Negotiate subcontractor rates.
• Attend daily planning meetings to approve next day/night plan.
• Ensure cost-efficient plans.
• Update systems and maintain accuracy.
• Maintain high customer service levels across all customers.
• Collaborate with other depots to deliver a one-stop solution.
