Job summary

PRS, a Building Services Engineering Consultancy in Rochester, is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design and deliver mechanical building services across projects in the region.

You will work with HVAC, heating, ventilation, cooling, and domestic water systems, using AutoCAD and Revit, and ensuring compliance with CIBSE guidelines and building regulations. The role offers progression from intermediate to senior level for the right candidate.

Qualifications

Intermediate / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

Rochester, Kent | £40,000 – £50,000 DOE | Permanent

We are currently looking for an Intermediate or Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established Building Services Engineering Consultancy based in Rochester, Kent.

The position would suit a strong Intermediate Engineer looking to progress into a senior role, or an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a new challenge.

You will be involved in the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems across a range of projects, working alongside an experienced team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, heating, ventilation, cooling and domestic water services.
• Produce mechanical design calculations, specifications and technical drawings.
• Assist with the delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
• Coordinate designs with electrical engineers, architects and external contractors.
• Attend project meetings and site visits as required.
• Ensure designs meet current building regulations and industry standards.
• Provide technical input and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Good technical knowledge of HVAC and associated mechanical systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Understanding of relevant CIBSE guidelines and building regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent experience).
