Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer for a permanent, full-time position in Winchester. You will join a team of around 28 staff, delivering electrical designs across residential, commercial, healthcare and heritage schemes.

You will work with senior engineers, prepare designs, specifications and calculations, and manage project deliverables from concept through to completion, with a clear path for professional development and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in electrical building services design.
• Experience working within an MEP consultancy or similar environment.
• Good understanding of electrical design principles.
• Experience producing electrical designs and calculations.
• Knowledge of relevant British Standards and Building Regulations.
• AutoCAD and/or Revit experience.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

An established building services consultancy in Winchester seeks an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer for a permanent, full-time position. The successful candidate will join a team of roughly 28 staff, contributing to a diverse portfolio spanning residential, commercial, healthcare, and heritage projects across London, the Home Counties, and the South. Projects range from individual homes to developments exceeding £100m. Responsibilities include producing electrical designs, specifications, and calculations, typically using industry-standard software. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers and other disciplines, managing project deliverables from concept through to completion. This role offers a salary between £30,000 and £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience, and provides a clear path for professional development within a supportive environment. An established Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health consultancy based near Winchester is looking to strengthen its electrical engineering team with an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer. The consultancy has around 28 staff and a well-established project portfolio covering London, the Home Counties and the South of England. Projects range from individual homes through to large-scale developments in excess of £100m. Residential work represents a significant percentage of the business, with additional experience across commercial, healthcare, education, leisure, industrial and heritage projects. The successful candidate will join an established electrical team and work alongside mechanical, public health and CAD professionals.

The Role

As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering electrical building services design across a varied range of projects. You will work closely with clients, contractors and other members of the design team, contributing to projects from initial design through to completion. The role offers the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for your own projects while continuing to develop your technical knowledge.
