Job summary

Hippo Digital Limited is seeking an Intermediate Business Analyst with IAM experience to support identity and access management initiatives for public and private sector clients. The role involves translating complex requirements into RBAC models and onboarding requirements for Microsoft Entra or similar providers within a multidisciplinary team.

You will conduct discovery, plan workshops, map access journeys, review identity processes, and document integration requirements.

As an Intermediate Business Analyst, you will play an important role in making Hippo the best Consultancy out there. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team combining data, design, product, delivery, analysis and engineering to deliver bespoke digital services and transformation that make a positive and meaningful impact on organisations and society. You will act as an Intermediate Consultant to deliver Business Analysis and Identity and Access Management services to our clients. You will help application owners turn often complex or undocumented requirements into clear, supportable RBAC models and onboarding requirements for Microsoft Entra or another identity provider. You will work closely within a multidisciplinary team of Identity and transformation experts to deliver high quality services and transformation to our clients.

This is an analysis-led role requiring consultancy and technical depth to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions and produce implementation-ready outputs for engineers and service teams.

Your Role in a Nutshell

• Conduct discovery with application, business, security and service owners to understand users, entitlements, risks, dependencies and current access processes.
• Plan and run workshops, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and make sure everyone agrees on the same goals.
• Map current-state and target-state access journeys, including requests, approvals, provisioning, review, change and removal.
• Review how identity processes work against best practice and standards, identify ways to make them more efficient.
• Elicit and document identity-provider integration requirements for Microsoft Entra or equivalent platforms.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver Identity projects and services to our clients.
• Help with testing the product to make sure it works for users.

Skills and experience that you need

Essential Experience

• Active SC or CTC.
• Proven business analysis or IAM analysis experience in identity, security, access management or application onboarding.
• Strong understanding of identity lifecycle, access requests, approvals, provisioning, recertification and deprovisioning.
• Strong facilitation, negotiation and written communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple work items through governance, testing, approval and handover in an Agile or iterative delivery environment.
• Ability to confidently share findings with project teams using facts and evidence.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Microsoft Entra Enterprise Applications, Entitlement Management, access packages or group-based assignment.
• Knowledge of segregation of duties, privileged access, least privilege and audit-control requirements.
• Experience onboarding SaaS, cloud-hosted, legacy or bespoke applications with differing integration capabilities.
• Familiarity with service design, process-improvement techniques, Azure DevOps or IT service-management tooling.
• Experience in a regulated, safety-critical or complex multi-supplier environment.

Hippo Locations

We are headquartered in Leeds and have offices across the UK in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Bristol. We're on the lookout for top talent nationwide but you need to be located within reasonable travelling distance from one of our offices. Given the dynamic nature of a consulting business, you may be required to work on-site at a Hippo office or at an in/out of town client location for a number of days per week (client dependent) and therefore candidates will need to be open/flexible to travel and working on one of those sites at least 2 days per week. We offer a generous relocation support package of up to £8,000 (please ask for terms and conditions) to help make your move a smooth one.
