Hippo Digital Ltd is seeking a Senior IAM Governance Analyst to join the Managed Services Team in London. You will lead user access reviews, coordinate reviewers and owners, and produce evidence that controls have operated effectively.

This hands-on role requires strong IAM/IDAM knowledge and stakeholder management. You'll work with Entra engineering to improve service quality, travel to client sites up to 2 days per week, and must hold Security Clearance (SC) or Counter Terrorism Clearance

About The Role

Hippo is a rapidly growing digital consultancy passionate about building and delivering transformative digital solutions. We are recruiting for a Senior IAM Governance Analyst to join our Hippo Herd as part of our Managed Services Team. We work at the intersection of strategy, design and technology to solve complex problems and create lasting value.

As a Senior IAM Governance Analyst within the User Access Reviews (UAR) team, you will help clients maintain effective control over who has access to their systems and data. You will plan and run access review activity, coordinate reviewers and application owners, manage exceptions and remediation, and produce clear evidence that controls have operated as intended.

You will act as a Senior Consultant delivering identity governance services in a complex operational environment. You will combine practical IAM/IDAM knowledge with strong analysis, audit awareness and stakeholder management, working closely with an Entra engineer to improve the quality and efficiency of the service.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who can bring structure to high-volume governance activity, challenge incomplete information constructively and turn policies into repeatable operational processes.

Please note that you will need active Security Clearance (SC) or Counter Terrorism Clearance (CTC) to be eligible for this role. We are initially looking to hire consultants who are based in the London area. There is an expectation of travelling to client site up to 2 days per week.

Your Role in a Nutshell

• Plan, coordinate and administer recurring and ad hoc user access review campaigns across applications, groups, roles and other entitlements.


• Confirm review scope, populations, reviewers, decision criteria, timescales and escalation routes with control and application owners.


• Support reviewers to make timely, evidence‑based decisions and follow up incomplete, overdue or inconsistent responses.


• Track denied access, exceptions and remediation through to verified completion, escalating control failures appropriately.


• Maintain accurate review records, evidence packs, process documentation and management information using SharePoint and agreed service tooling.


• Analyse outcomes and recurring issues to identify data‑quality, ownership, policy and process improvements.


• Work with engineering colleagues to define requirements for automation, reporting and Microsoft Entra ID Governance enhancements.


• Build trusted relationships with security, audit, risk, service, application and business stakeholders.

Skills and experience that you need

Essential Experience

• Proven experience in identity and access management, identity governance or access‑control operations.


• Hands‑on experience planning or operating user access reviews, access recertification or comparable periodic control activity.


• Understanding of IAM/IDAM lifecycle processes, access approvals, role and entitlement ownership, least privilege and exception management.


• Experience producing reliable audit evidence and working with risk, compliance, internal audit or external audit stakeholders.


• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to reconcile data, identify anomalies and follow actions through to closure.


• Experience maintaining operational records, process guidance and evidence repositories using SharePoint or similar collaboration tooling.


• Confident stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain governance requirements to technical and non‑technical audiences.


• Ability to work independently within agreed controls while managing multiple review cycles, deadlines and escalations.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID Governance, including Access Reviews, Entitlement Management or Privileged Identity Management.


• Knowledge of role‑based access control, segregation of duties and access‑control design.


• Experience working in a regulated, safety‑critical or complex multi‑partner environment.


• Familiarity with service‑management tools, operational reporting or continuous‑improvement methods.


• Microsoft identity, security, audit or IT service‑management certification.

Hippo Locations

We are headquartered in Leeds and have offices across the UK in Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, London and Bristol. We're on the lookout for top talent nationwide but you need to be located within reasonable travelling distance from one of our offices. Given the dynamic nature of a consulting business, you may be required to work on‑site at a Hippo office or at an in/out of town client location for a number of days per week (client dependent) and therefore candidates will need to be open/flexible to travel and working on one of those sites at least 2 days per week. We offer a generous relocation support package of up to £8,000 (please ask for terms and conditions) to help make your move a smooth one.
