Job summary

APSS Ltd in Lincoln is seeking an experienced Interior Designer / Workplace Designer to deliver creative commercial interior fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK. From concept to delivery, you will translate client briefs into practical and innovative design solutions.

You will produce space plans, mood boards, detailed drawings, and high-quality 3D visuals, collaborating with sales, project teams and external consultants while ensuring compliance with Building Regulations.

Qualifications

• Commercial interior design or workplace design experience.
• Strong space planning and technical drawing skills.
• Good understanding of Building Regulations and construction detailing.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative interior design concepts in response to client briefs.
• Produce space planning layouts, mood boards and presentation material.
• Prepare detailed drawing packages, specifications and construction information.
• Create high-quality 3D visualisations and client presentations.
• Work closely with sales, commercial and project management teams.
• Attend client meetings, design workshops and site surveys.
• Coordinate designs with consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations and relevant legislation.
• Select finishes, furniture, fixtures and materials to meet aesthetics and function.
• Maintain company drawing standards and quality systems.

APSS Ltd is looking for a creative and motivated Interior Designer / Workplace Designer to join our growing design team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of commercial interior fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK, helping to create inspiring workplaces and environments for our clients.

From initial concepts through to project completion, you'll play a key role in transforming client briefs into innovative, practical and commercially successful design solutions.

Since 1997, APSS has delivered high-quality interior design, fit-out and refurbishment projects across the office, retail, industrial, education and healthcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop creative interior design concepts in response to client briefs
• Produce space planning layouts, mood boards and presentation material
• Prepare detailed drawing packages, specifications and construction information
• Create high-quality 3D visualisations and client presentations
• Work closely with the sales, commercial and project management teams throughout the design process
• Attend client meetings, design workshops and site surveys
• Coordinate designs with consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
• Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations and relevant legislation
• Select finishes, furniture, fixtures and materials to meet both aesthetic and functional requirements
• Respond to design changes and client feedback throughout project deliverySupport the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion
• Maintain company drawing standards, procedures and quality systems

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in commercial interior design, workplace design or commercial fit-out
• A creative eye with strong attention to detail
• Excellent space planning and technical drawing skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• A proactive and organised approach to work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Commercial awareness and understanding of client requirements
• Full UK driving licence (preferred)

Software Experience

Experience with the following software would be advantageous:

• AutoCAD
• SketchUp
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator)
• Microsoft Office
• Revit (desirable but not essential)
• Knowledge of 3D rendering software (desirable)

Desirable Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a related discipline
• Experience within commercial interiors and workplace design
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and construction detailing
• Understanding of furniture specification and workplace standards
