Job summary

Careers in design is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to lead projects from concept through to completion. Based in Bath, Bristol, or London with regular travel to Head Office, you will translate client briefs into creative, detailed design solutions and manage projects end-to-end.

Candidates should have strong AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop and SketchUp skills, plus a keen eye for materials and heritage buildings. A full UK driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in interior design software and strong visual communication.
• Excellent presentation and documentation skills.
• Ability to interpret client briefs and translate into detailed designs.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative design concepts and deliver projects independently or with the team.
• Prepare and present design proposals, proposals and supporting documentation.
• Research materials, finishes and furnishings aligned with concept and budget.
• Develop bespoke furniture design packages.
• Manage projects across all stages following the RIBA structure.
• Attend client and site meetings and present design ideas confidently.
• Build strong supplier relationships and pursue sustainable design approaches.

Job description

Our client is an established Interior Design Studio creating beautiful spaces, unforgettable experiences and exceptional interiors for clients in the UK and overseas.

Based in stunning studio premises, they are a friendly and collaborative team working across a diverse portfolio of high-end residential and commercial projects. They are now looking for an experienced Interior Designer to join their team and take projects from concept through to completion. You can be based either from their Head Office and studio near Bath and Bristol or out of their London office (with regular travel to Head Office).

The Role as Interior Designer:

You will play an important role in delivering high-quality interior design projects, translating client briefs into creative, considered and detailed design solutions.

• Developing creative design concepts and delivering projects independently and as part of the wider design team.
• Preparing and presenting design proposals, presentations and supporting documentation.
• Researching and selecting materials, finishes and furnishings in line with the design concept and budget.
• Developing bespoke furniture design packages.
• Managing projects across all stages in line with the RIBA structure.
• Attending client and site meetings and confidently presenting design ideas.
• Building strong supplier relationships and identifying creative and sustainable approaches.

About You as an Interior Designer:

We are looking for an Interior Designer with a strong eye for detail, excellent design judgement and a genuine passion for interiors, materials and architecture.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, SketchUp and Microsoft Office.
• A strong understanding of materials, finishes and heritage buildings.
• Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the confidence to take initiative.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.

In Return:

• Salary of between £38,000 and £40,000.
