The team you’ll be joining

By managing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and providing accurate financial reporting, the finance team supports all departments in achieving their goals. The Role

We are currently hiring for an Interim Tax Accountant to support EML’s UK and European tax operations during a critical phase of transition and growth. Reporting into the Head of Tax (Europe), this is a hands-on role focused on compliance, tax reporting, and supporting business initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.

This role is ideal for a qualified tax professional with strong UK corporate tax experience, and at least 2–3 years’ experience in-house following practice training. You’ll be working across a diverse portfolio of entities, supporting both routine tax compliance and project-based work.

What you’ll do

  • Assist in the preparation and review of half year and annual tax provisioning under IFRS
  • Support the preparation of UK corporate tax returns and associated filings
  • Support the tax compliance process for European entities, primarily Ireland, including liaison with external advisors
  • Respond to tax authority queries and audits, primarily in the UK
  • Provide guidance on indirect tax matters (e.g. VAT), in collaboration with finance team
  • Support intercompany transfer pricing documentation and compliance
  • Identify process improvements to increase the efficiency and accuracy of tax reporting
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects such as regulatory submissions, and new product launches

What you’ll bring

  • Trained in a recognised accountancy or tax practice
  • Minimum 2–3 years' post-qualification experience in an in-house tax or finance role
  • Strong working knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation and reporting
  • Comfortable working independently and liaising with external advisors and stakeholders
  • Excellent Excel and financial reporting skills
  • Exposure to Irish tax compliance and reporting
  • Experience working in a regulated business (e.g. fintech, financial services)
  • Working knowledge of indirect tax and/or transfer pricing
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite or similar ERP systems
