Job summary

iMultiply is seeking an Interim Systems Accountant for a hybrid role based in Edinburgh, delivering finance systems improvements and enhanced reporting within a large organisation undergoing digital transformation.

You will bridge finance and technology, lead system upgrades, develop dashboards, and support governance across finance processes. 3-month fixed-term contract with a Midlands-style hybrid setup and competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (or nearing completion of a recognised professional qualification).
• Experience in Systems Accountant, Finance Systems, ERP, or Finance Transformation role.
• Strong experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and budgeting processes.
• Experience developing reports, dashboards, and management information.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

THE ROLE

As Systems Accountant, you will act as the bridge between finance and technology, ensuring systems are operating effectively while identifying opportunities to improve processes, automate activities, and enhance reporting capabilities. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for an experienced finance professional with strong systems knowledge and a genuine interest in driving improvements through technology and data.

Mandatory

• Qualified accountant (or nearing completion of a recognised professional qualification).
• Previous experience in a Systems Accountant, Finance Systems, ERP, or Finance Transformation role.
• Strong experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and budgeting processes.
• Experience developing reports, dashboards, and management information.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Preferred

• Experience supporting finance system implementations or upgrades.
• Knowledge of business intelligence and reporting platforms.
• Experience delivering user training and supporting change initiatives.
• Exposure to automation and process improvement projects.
• Ability to work effectively across both finance and technology teams.
