Job summary

H-Power, a UK clean-energy technology company, seeks an interim Supply Chain Lead for a six-month fixed-term contract to spearhead day-to-day leadership of the supply chain function. The role reports to the Operations Director and involves heavy collaboration with Engineering, Project Management and Operations to keep key activities on track.

You will lead purchasing and goods-in teams, drive supplier performance, and manage commercial negotiations across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in procurement or supply chain within engineering/manufacturing/energy environments.
• Experience as a Senior Buyer, Procurement Lead or Supply Chain Lead.
• Strong people leadership and supplier-relations management skills.
• Ability to work across multiple projects and competing priorities.

Looking for an interim supply chain leadership opportunity where you can make a genuine impact in just six months?

H-Power is a UK clean-energy technology business developing innovative hydrogen and ammonia-based power solutions, helping industries reduce their reliance on diesel-powered systems.

We're looking for an experienced Supply Chain Lead to join the business on a six-month fixed-term contract, providing maternity cover during an important period of technology development and production activity.

This isn't simply a role keeping things ticking over. You'll have the opportunity to lead an established supply chain team, influence operational priorities and help strengthen how the function supports the wider business.

What makes this opportunity interesting?

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you'll have responsibility for day-to-day supply chain leadership, including:

• Leading and supporting the purchasing and goods-in teams, setting priorities and removing obstacles.
• Managing supplier performance, commercial negotiations and procurement escalations.
• Working closely with Engineering, Project Management and Operations to keep critical activities on track.
• Identifying supply chain risks, improving processes and ensuring the function is well-positioned for the future.

What experience will you need?

You’ll have a strong background in procurement or supply chain, ideally gained within engineering, manufacturing, energy or another technically complex environment.

Previous experience as a Senior Buyer, Procurement Lead, Supply Chain Lead or similar would be particularly relevant.

You’ll also be comfortable leading people, managing supplier relationships and working across multiple projects and competing priorities.

Role: Interim Supply Chain Lead

Location: Dunsfold, Surrey

Contract: 6-month FTC

Salary: Competitive depending on experience

Working arrangement: Hybrid - 4 days on-site, 1 day working from home
