Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking an Interim Site Engineering Manager for a fast-paced FMCG operation in Bedfordshire. You will lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, drive asset reliability, maintenance strategy and refrigeration infrastructure across chilled, frozen production and cold storage facilities.

The role requires hands-on leadership with experience in ammonia/CO2 refrigeration, TPM/Lean/CI methods and a proven track record in temperature-controlled manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG manufacturing, chilled/frozen or temperature-controlled environments.
• Proven engineering management in FMCG environments.
• Industrial refrigeration knowledge (ammonia/CO2).
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• TPM, Lean Manufacturing, WCM or CI methodologies.
• Proven track record of improving OEE, asset reliability and engineering performance.
• Time-served apprenticeship or degree with HNC/HND/degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the engineering team.
• Drive proactive engineering and reliability culture.
• Improve plant availability, OEE and maintenance performance.
• Ensure refrigeration and cold storage assets operate safely and effectively.
• Manage PPM, CBM and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Support ammonia and industrial refrigeration compliance requirements.
• Develop engineering KPIs and performance improvement plans.
• Lead RCA and continuous improvement activities.
• Manage engineering budgets and resources.
• Deliver CAPEX and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with engineering, food safety, HSE and statutory requirements.
