Job summary

Huntress is seeking an experienced Interim Procurement Business Partner in Milton Keynes for a 6–8 month contract. You will lead end‑to‑end procurement, run mini‑competitions, and advise stakeholders on public sector frameworks to deliver best value.

The role requires strong knowledge of public procurement legislation, excellent negotiation and contract management skills, and the ability to work in a hybrid pattern with flexible hours. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Experience in a public‑sector organisation is essential.
• Proven track record of end‑to‑end tendering and competitive procurement.
• Practical experience running mini‑competitions and further competitions.
• Good working knowledge of public procurement legislation (e.g., Public Contracts Regulations 2015).
• Strong negotiation, supplier and contract management skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and provide procurement advice.
• Commercial mindset with history of delivering savings and improvements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and start quickly.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement and competitive tendering exercises, ensuring compliance with public sector rules.
• Manage further and mini‑competitions under established frameworks.
• Develop sourcing strategies to achieve best value and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements and challenge specs.
• Lead supplier negotiations, evaluations and contract award recommendations.
• Monitor supplier performance and governance across contracts.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and wider commercial benefits.
• Provide procurement guidance to stakeholders and support continuous improvement.
