Interim PR Manager

This leading international legal practice is recruiting an Interim PR Manager to plan and execute the media relations strategy for the global litigation, employment, and tax practices. The role will work closely with senior management and partners on a daily basis, sourcing new proactive media opportunities and protecting the corporate reputation through effective management of sensitive issues impacting the firm and its clients.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Independently build and sustain strong relationships with journalists
2. Work regularly with partners & senior staff to identify opportunities for proactive news stories
3. Act confidently as an advisor to partners, preparing spokespeople for interviews and press releases
4. Research to identify useful news stories and subjects beneficial to the firm
5. Serve as a 'gatekeeper' between journalists and partners to ensure efficient communication
6. Advise spokespeople on media handling
7. Collaborate with the PR team to manage daily social media activities

Suitable candidates must demonstrate proven media relations experience, excellent communication skills, and an understanding and interest in commercial and business issues. Ideally, candidates will have gained PR experience within the professional or financial services sectors.
