Job summary

Southwest Local Authority is seeking an experienced Projects Manager to lead the planning and delivery of the Schools PFI expiry programme in Southampton. You will manage commercial risk, coordinate asset inspections and handovers, and maintain strong governance with SPV partners, government representatives and advisers.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract management, commercial management, procurement or complex programmes.
• Experience delivering large or complex projects from planning through delivery.
• Strong knowledge of PFI contracts and their commercial requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of the Schools PFI contract expiry programme.
• Develop a comprehensive expiry plan with key milestones.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, SPV partners, government reps and advisors.
• Translate contractual obligations into practical exit and handover plans.
• Coordinate asset inspections, technical surveys and service handover activities.
• Oversee governance, commercial risk and change control throughout the programme.
• Provide updates and high-quality reports to senior stakeholders.
• Share lessons learned to inform other Council programmes.
