Merck Gruppe seeks an Interim Market Access Manager for Oncology, a field-based role focused on implementing market access strategies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry and strong knowledge of NHS processes, ensuring the successful integration of oncology medicines into the market.
Your Role:
We have a unique opportunity for an Interim Market Access Manager role for Oncology to join our team. This is a new field based position in the UK and ROI Market Access, Pricing and Government and Public Affairs team with regular travel to our Feltham office. This will initially be a 12-month FTC (Fixed Term Contract)
The Interim Market Access Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the head-office and in-field market access strategies for our oncology portfolio. These strategies must ensure that external stakeholders, both clinical and non-clinical, understand the clinical, economic, and societal benefit of our oncology medicines, their impact on the service, and their alignment with NHS priorities, in order to support uptake. These value messages will be delivered primarily in field by Therapy Area Specialists (TASs) with the aid of market access materials for which the Interim Market Access Manager has responsibility for creating and maintaining.
Upskilling and training the TASs for when, how and who to use these materials with is another important aspect of the role. Market access activities are to be targeted in specific accounts where access is challenging, this individual will be responsible for regularly liaising with the TASs and the Heads of Therapy Area Specialists to identify where market access activities would be of value and how best to deliver them. Although the majority of in-field market access meetings will be managed by the TASs, the Interim Market Access Manager may also on occasion assist with these meetings and will meet with a range of payors and related market access stakeholders at ICB and ICS level to ensure strong strategic relationships and support uptake of our oncology medicines.
Another important aspect of this role is to strengthen our external reputation as a collaborative NHS partner. To fulfil this role, a strong understanding of the access and NHS policy environment is needed. Landscape analysis and insight gathering to shape messaging and engagement will be an important aspect of the role. The role will be field-based with travel required.
