Job summary

Cognisant is seeking an Interim Management Accountant to join our established residential property and construction sector for an 18-month assignment. You will deliver timely management information, support financial control and provide commercial insight.

Reporting to the senior finance team, you'll manage month-end, budgets, forecasts and cash flow planning while collaborating with operations to improve financial visibility.

Qualifications

• Proven management accounting and month-end reporting experience.
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Experience in construction, housebuilding, or project-based environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Manage month-end processes, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Produce budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Monitor project costs, WIP and profitability across developments.
• Support cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
• Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to improve financial visibility and performance.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen financial controls and processes.
• Support year-end activities and liaise with auditors as required.
• Undertake ad hoc duties to support the business.
