Job summary

Interim Management Accountant role in Wirral, England, on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will lead monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting, and support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

You'll work closely with the finance leadership team to deliver robust financial insights. The opportunity offers hybrid working (4 days in the office, 1 day from home), £45,000–£52,000 DOE, and study support plus development opportunities within a growing

Qualifications

• Experience assisting with the preparation of management accounts.
• Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.
• Previous experience using finance systems such as Sage, Xero, Dynamics or similar.
• Organised, analytical and able to work to deadlines.
• A proactive team player with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting
• Month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Variance analysis and commentary against budget and prior year
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Producing financial reports and KPI analysis
• Assisting with year-end audit requirements
• Supporting financial controls and continuous improvement projects
• Working closely with budget holders and stakeholders across the business

Are you a finance professional looking for a broad, hands-on role within a growing and supportive business? We're working with a highly regarded organisation that is seeking a Management Accountant to join its finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure across the full management accounting cycle while working closely with an experienced finance leadership team.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate and insightful financial information to support business decision making. You'll be involved in month-end reporting, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis and process improvement initiatives, whilst developing your commercial and technical accounting skills.

Key Responsibilities
