Job summary

Braxfield Recruitment is supporting a London local authority in the search for an experienced Interim M&E Compliance Manager to lead on water hygiene and Legionella compliance across the housing stock, with broader oversight of gas, electrical and lifts compliance.

The role focuses on driving ACOP L8/HSG274 compliance, reporting to senior stakeholders, and managing water treatment contractors along with servicing and certification across the M&E portfolio.

Qualifications

• Strong experience delivering Legionella and water hygiene compliance in social housing or local government.
• Working knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidance.
• Experience overseeing gas, electrical and lifts compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead on Legionella and water hygiene compliance, ensuring risk assessments, monitoring regimes and remedial works meet ACOP L8/HSG274 requirements.
• Manage relationships with water treatment contractors and review water risk assessments, log books and remedial action plans.
• Provide assurance and reporting on water compliance to senior stakeholders, escalating high-risk findings as needed.
• Oversee gas, electrical and lifts compliance programmes, ensuring servicing and certification are up to date.
• Hold M&E contractors to account on performance and remedial timescales and maintain accurate compliance records.
