Job summary

GenieoWeb in London is seeking an IT Project Manager to oversee the final two stages of a website upgrade, coordinating with outsourced providers and senior stakeholders.

You will define project practices, manage risks, prepare readiness plans for IT deployment and data migration, and ensure a smooth transition to business-as-usual operations.

PRINCE2 practitioner and Agile experience, CMS familiarity (Drupal or similar), and strong executive reporting are preferred.

Job description

This role is to manage the 2 final stages of a website upgrade project and involves working closely with outsourced providers and senior level stakeholders within the organisations.

Key responsibilities of this job include:

• Take full responsibility for the definition, documentation and satisfactory completion of project practices and procedures and organisation change.
• Identify, assess and manage project issues and risks. Ensure that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained and provide regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.
• Create the business readiness plan, taking into consideration IT deployment, data migration, capability deployment (training and engagement activities) and any business activities required to integrate new processes or jobs into the “business as usual” environment
• Determine the readiness levels of business users with regard to upcoming changes; uncover readiness gaps and create and implement action plans to close the gaps prior to going live.
• Assist the user community in the provision of transition support and change planning.
• Monitor and report progress on business readiness targets, business engagement activity, training design and deployment activities, key operational metrics and return to productivity measures.
• Define the series and sequence of activities to bring stakeholders to the required level of commitment, prior to going live.

Previous experience and skills required:

• Management of business transformation projects that have a technology component, including systems implementation
• Working with the project management methodology PRINCE 2 at practitioner level and familiarity with agile project management techniques
• Reporting to senior business and technical leaders on project plans, progress, status, risks and issues and the production of project reports for stakeholders at a senior level.
• Familiarity with Digital transformation projects, preferably website-related (desirable but not essential)
• Familiarity with Drupal or other content management systems, and experience in CMS and existing content migrations (desirable but not essential)

We build and manage websites for UK businesses from our studio in East Ham, London.
