Job summary

Assured Safety Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Interim Health & Safety Manager to support a public-sector education client in Sevenoaks. This is a 2-3 month, inside IR35 assignment with immediate start and full-time on-site hours.

You will lead H&S arrangements, review policies and risk assessments, conduct audits, and provide practical guidance to senior leadership while ensuring compliance with current legislation and safeguarding considerations in an education environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in health and safety management or senior advisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of current health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to provide clear, practical advice to senior leaders and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Health & Safety arrangements across the organisation.
• Review, update and improve Health & Safety policies, procedures and risk assessments.
• Provide professional Health & Safety advice to senior management and operational teams.
• Carry out Health & Safety inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
• Identify areas of risk and develop practical improvement plans.
• Review and investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions.
• Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with external contractors, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate Health & Safety records and documentation.
• Support staff with Health & Safety guidance, training and awareness.
• Work closely with leadership teams to promote a positive Health & Safety culture.
