Job summary

The Education Network is seeking an Interim Assistant Headteacher for a South Birmingham secondary school. The role covers pastoral leadership and Designated Safeguarding Lead duties within the senior leadership team.

You will drive safeguarding, pupil welfare and behaviour strategies, working with staff, parents and external agencies to maintain high standards during the interim period.

Qualifications

• Experience leading pastoral provision in a secondary school.
• Proven safeguarding expertise and DSL responsibilities.
• Strong leadership in student welfare and safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across pastoral provision.
• Lead safeguarding and student welfare within the school.
• Serve on the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to school improvement.
• Support the DSL function and safeguarding procedures.
• Lead on behaviour, attendance and student wellbeing.
• Collaborate with staff, parents and external agencies.
