Job Description:

Interim Head of IT (6-Month Contract)

• Location: Bath
• 6 Month FTC
• Salary: Circa £80,000 annually
• Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Interim Head of IT to join our clients fast-paced organisation on a 6-month contract, with the potential for a permanent role. You will play a pivotal role in overhauling and modernising the IT infrastructure while managing the day-to-day operations.

What You'll Do:

• Conduct a comprehensive review of our current IT infrastructure and systems.
• Develop and implement a strategic plan to address gaps, skillset shortages, and areas of improvement.
• Oversee and support our small internal UK IT team serving 250 users, while liaising with 550 staff globally (across the USA, Europe, and Asia).
• Act as the technical escalation point, providing hands-on support and expertise without relying on wider tech teams.

What We’re Looking For:

Technical Expertise:

• Extensive knowledge of hardware and software systems (servers, networking, databases, operating systems, ERP platforms, enterprise applications – IFS ERP software).
• Proficient in IT security and data protection policies, including ISO 27001, TISAX compliance, and “Cyber Security Essentials.”
• Hands-on experience with Office 365 suite, including data migrations from other platforms.
• Familiarity with JIRA support ticketing systems.
• Expertise in IT governance frameworks and global compliance requirements, particularly regarding data export across multiple global offices.

Strategic Leadership:

• Ability to identify and recommend IT solutions, skillset developments, and operational improvements.
• Vendor management experience, including contract negotiations, licensing agreements, and cost-effective solutions.
