Position: Interim Head of IT (6-Month Contract)

Location: Bath

Salary: Circa £80,000 annually

Start Date: ASAP

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Interim Head of IT to join our client's fast-paced organization on a 6-month contract, with the potential for a permanent role. You will play a pivotal role in overhauling and modernizing the IT infrastructure while managing day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct a comprehensive review of current IT infrastructure and systems.
2. Develop and implement strategic plans to address gaps, skillset shortages, and areas for improvement.
3. Oversee and support a small internal UK IT team serving 250 users, while liaising with 550 staff globally across the USA, Europe, and Asia.
4. Act as the technical escalation point, providing hands-on support and expertise.

Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive knowledge of hardware and software systems, including servers, networking, databases, operating systems, ERP platforms (notably IFS ERP software).
• Proficiency in IT security and data protection policies, including ISO 27001, TISAX compliance, and Cyber Security Essentials.
• Hands-on experience with Office 365, including data migrations.
• Familiarity with JIRA support ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of IT governance frameworks and global compliance, especially regarding data export across multiple offices.

Leadership and Attributes

• Ability to identify and recommend IT solutions, skillset developments, and operational improvements.
• Vendor management experience, including contract negotiations and licensing.
• Dynamic, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
