Charity People is recruiting an Interim Head of Finance & Resources for a 8–12 week, part‑time role in North Yorkshire, with hybrid working and office attendance during handover.

You will lead a five‑person team and provide strategic and operational leadership across finance, HR, IT, facilities and governance while supporting the CEO and Trustees.

This hands‑on leadership role suits an experienced finance professional seeking a varied and mission‑driven position within a values‑led charity.

Qualifications

• Significant senior finance leadership experience.
• Professional accountancy qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong financial planning, budgeting and reporting expertise.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Hands-on and collaborative approach.
• Experience across finance, governance and organisational support functions.
• Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, senior leaders and trustees.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership as a member of the senior leadership team.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and compliance across the organisation.
• Work closely with the CEO and Trustees to support organisational planning and decision‑making.
• Act as Company Secretary and support governance and Board processes.
• Oversee and continuously improve finance, HR, IT, facilities and governance functions.
• Lead and develop a central support team of five staff, ensuring high‑quality support for the wider organisation.
• Ensure systems, processes and resources are fit for purpose and support the charity’s continued growth and impact.
