Job summary

Morson Edge Finance is seeking an Interim Group Finance Accountant/Manager to join the External Reporting team within a large, international listed group. The role covers statutory reporting, consolidation, and technical accounting across multiple markets.

You will interact with finance teams globally, coordinate with external auditors, and support UK statutory accounts under FRS 101. This is a six-month interim assignment with hybrid working and UK residency required.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant with a strong technical accounting background.
• Experience preparing and/or auditing statutory accounts under FRS 101.
• Experience preparing UK statutory financial statements.
• Group consolidation and external reporting experience.
• Exposure to complex, multi-entity organisations.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience of working with ERP and consolidation system.
• Experience within a listed, international/global environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of the Group’s half-year and year-end statutory financial statements and related disclosures.
• Take ownership of allocated areas of the statutory reporting process, including fixed assets, trade payables and cash flow.
• Maintain and review the Group consolidation, including reconciliations, consolidation adjustments and monthly submissions.
• Prepare statutory financial statements for allocated UK subsidiary entities, ensuring compliance with FRS 101 and relevant Companies Act requirements.
• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, managing information requests and resolving queries.
• Research technical accounting matters and support the consistent application of IFRS and Group accounting policies.
• Work closely with finance teams across the Group, providing technical accounting support and contributing to process improvements.

Morson Edge Finance is partnering exclusively with a major UK listed international business to recruit an Interim Group Finance Accountant / Manager into its Group Finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong qualified Accountant to join a high calibre External Reporting team within a complex, international organisation.

Working at Group level, the role will provide broad exposure across external reporting, consolidation, statutory accounts and technical accounting, with regular interaction with finance teams across multiple international markets and the Group’s external auditors.

The assignment is initially for six months and will cover an important half-year and year-end reporting period.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of External Reporting, responsibilities will include:

• Support the preparation of the Group’s half-year and year-end statutory financial statements and related disclosures
• Take ownership of allocated areas of the statutory reporting process, including areas such as fixed assets, trade payables and cash flow

Experience required:

We are looking for an ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant with a strong technical accounting background with:

• Exposure to complex, multi-entity organisations
• Strong technical accounting knowledge

Alongside your technical capability, you will need strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurately against tight reporting deadlines.

The Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to gain significant Group level exposure within a large, international listed environment, working alongside an experienced External Reporting team and stakeholders across Group Finance.

The role is hybrid – five office days across a two-week period. You must be a UK resident and not have visa/ sponsorship requirements.
