Job summary

ALS is seeking an Interim Group Sustainability Director to lead the global sustainability strategy and drive its Net Zero roadmap across regions. The role requires delivering ESG reporting, engaging with Boards, and ensuring regulatory compliance, including CSRD and IFRS reporting.

The candidate will manage cross-regional teams in Europe and Australia, shaping a high-performing sustainability function while partnering with business leaders to embed sustainable practice into decision-making.

Qualifications

• Experience leading sustainability programmes in a complex multinational
• Proven track record delivering measurable ESG/climate initiatives
• Strong knowledge of CSRD, IFRS, and GRI reporting frameworks
• Experience engaging with executives, boards, and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and evolution of global sustainability strategy
• Drive Net Zero roadmap including Scope 1-3 emissions programmes
• Oversee ESG reporting and regulatory compliance (CSRD, IFRS)
• Manage relationships with ESG rating agencies and partners
• Present performance and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team and Board
• Embed sustainability into operational decision making across regions
• Lead and develop an international sustainability team across Europe and Australia
• Build a collaborative, high-performing global sustainability function
