Job summary

The Oyster Partnership is seeking an Interim Fire Safety Manager to lead the fire safety compliance programme across housing assets in the UK. The role requires strong housing compliance, fire risk management, and contractor oversight skills, with delivery of statutory obligations and expert advice to senior stakeholders.

This interim position offers hybrid working, immediate start, and potential for contract extension.

Qualifications

• Experience as Fire Safety Manager or similar.
• Experience in social housing, local authority or housing provider environments.
• Knowledge of current fire safety legislation and housing compliance requirements.
• Experience managing Fire Risk Assessments and fire safety projects.
• Ability to provide expert advice and robust assurance to senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Availability to start at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the fire safety compliance programme across the housing portfolio.
• Review Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and track actions to completion.
• Oversee fire safety contractors and remedial works programmes for quality and compliance.
• Conduct site inspections and verify completed fire safety works.
• Monitor compliance performance and implement corrective actions.
• Produce assurance reports for senior management.
• Support regulatory inspections and ensure ongoing compliance with fire safety legislation.
• Maintain accurate fire safety records and audit trails.
