Job summary

Niyaa People is seeking an experienced Interim Fire Safety Manager to support a leading Social Housing provider in Birmingham with fire remediations on an interim basis. The role focuses on managing fire safety programmes, inspections and contractor coordination across a portfolio of residential properties.

The position is full-time with hybrid working, offering a day rate of £400–£440 and a 6-month contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Fire Risk Assessments and fire safety compliance.
• Experience managing fire safety contractors and external consultants.
• Strong understanding of fire safety legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Group’s fire safety programmes across its residential property portfolio.
• Carry out fire safety inspections, surveys and audits; identify and manage risks.
• Collaborate with Property Managers to implement Fire Risk Assessment recommendations and remedial actions.
• Prepare specifications, monitor works on site and perform quality assurance inspections.
• Manage contracts, variations and Contract Instructions as required.
• Ensure all fire and building safety regulatory obligations are identified and progressed.
• Keep up to date with changes to fire safety legislation and guidance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage and oversee the Group’s fire safety programmes across its residential property portfolio.
• Carry out fire safety inspections, surveys and audits, ensuring risks are identified and appropriately managed.
• Work closely with Property Managers to ensure Fire Risk Assessment recommendations and remedial actions are completed.
• Prepare specifications, monitor works on site and undertake quality assurance inspections.
• Manage contracts, variations and Contract Instructions where required.
• Ensure all fire safety, building safety, statutory and regulatory obligations are identified and progressed.
• Keep up to date with changes to fire safety legislation, guidance and regulatory requirements.

The successful Fire Safety Manager will have:

• Strong knowledge and experience of Fire Risk Assessments and fire safety compliance.
• Experience managing fire safety contractors and external consultants.
• Strong understanding of fire safety legislation and regulations.
• Experience delivering fire safety remedial, major works or compliance programmes.
• A recognised Fire Safety qualification or Building safety qualification
• Strong project, contract and budget management skills.
• Experience working within a residential or social housing environment.
