Job summary

Four-Squared-Recruitment-1 is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to oversee all finance functions for an SME in Birmingham. The role focuses on technical accounting, Sage 200 management, cash flow and budget control, and strategic financial support to the business owner and senior management.

You will lead month-end processes, provide robust financial analysis, ensure statutory compliance, and drive process improvements to deliver value during a period of change and growth.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager.
• Experience in SME environment.
• Advanced Sage 200 user with reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present quarterly accounts.
• Produce P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow forecasts and KPI reports.
• Monitor financial performance and provide analysis to management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Maintain and strengthen financial controls, processes and procedures.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Oversee cash flow and working capital management; monitor budgets and forecasts.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.
• Support system enhancements, process improvements and reporting developments in Sage 200.
