Job summary

Sharp Consultancy is seeking an Interim Financial Controller for an SME manufacturing business in Scunthorpe. The role is hands-on, requiring ownership of the finance function, strong management accounting, and the ability to deliver accurate monthly accounts and management information.

Ideally you have prior interim or senior finance experience in an SME, with ERP systems exposure (NetSuite advantageous). The assignment runs to cover until a permanent appointment is made, with a competitive day

Qualifications

• Previous Financial Controller or senior finance management experience within an SME.
• Strong financial and management accounting experience.
• Experience overseeing a small finance team.
• Hands-on approach and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly understand a business and take ownership of the finance function.
• Strong systems and ERP experience; NetSuite experience would be advantageous.
• Ability to work at short notice and provide immediate stability to the business.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to operate independently.
• Hit the ground running and provide high-level financial support during transition.

Responsibilities

• Production of accurate monthly financial accounts.
• Preparation and delivery of management accounts.
• Overseeing and supporting a small finance team.
• Taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function.
• Ensuring appropriate financial controls and processes are maintained.
• Providing accurate financial information and analysis to the wider business.
• Supporting business growth and development.
• Managing the finance function through the transition to a permanent appointment.
• Ensuring an effective handover to the incoming permanent Financial Controller.
