Job Description:

Our PE-backed software client requires an Interim Financial Controller for an initial 6-month period. Reporting to the CFO and based near Birmingham, the role involves spending 3 days on-site per week. Overnight expenses can be reimbursed if necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the rollout of a new ERP system, embedding best practices, improving data integrity and reporting.
• Manage the balance sheet, ensuring revenue recognition and reporting accuracy.
• Manage and mentor a small finance team, focusing on continuous improvement, automation, and efficiency.
• Oversee cyclical controllership duties, including monthly close, year-end, and audit preparations.

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Experience in B2B or software/tech sectors is advantageous.
• Background in private equity-backed or fast-growth environments.
• Hands-on approach managing lean finance teams and engaging with senior stakeholders confidently.
