• Must have previous experience at Financial Controller or Finance Manager level within manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function.
• Produce monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash flow.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to senior management.
• Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control.
• Manage stock, inventory and manufacturing-related financial reporting.
• Review costs, margins and production performance.
• Maintain strong financial controls and processes.
• Support month-end and year-end processes.
• Manage VAT and other statutory requirements.

• Lead and develop the finance team.

Interim Financial Controller - Manufacturing

Working Pattern: Full-time
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a well-established manufacturing business in York.
This is a hands-on interim opportunity for an experienced finance professional who can quickly take ownership of the finance function, provide strong financial control and support the business through a period of change.

The Role

Working closely with the senior management team, you will oversee the finance function and provide accurate, timely financial information to support commercial and operational decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function
• Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow
• Providing financial analysis and commercial insight to senior management
• Overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
• Managing stock, inventory and manufacturing-related financial reporting
• Reviewing costs, margins and production performance
• Maintaining strong financial controls and processes
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes
• Managing VAT and other statutory requirements
• Supporting external accountants and auditors
• Leading and developing the finance team
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and reporting

About You

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller / Finance Manager with previous experience within a manufacturing environment.

• Previous experience at Financial Controller or senior Finance Manager level
• Strong management accounting and reporting experience
• Previous manufacturing or engineering sector experience
• Experience with stock, product costing and margins
• Strong understanding of financial controls and processesExperience managing and developing a finance team
• Excellent analytical and commercial skills
• The ability to quickly understand a business and make an immediate impact
• Previous interim experience would be advantageous

Salary: Up to £65,000, depending on experience.
