Job summary

RM Recruit, partnering with a client, seeks an experienced Interim Financial Accountant for an initial six-month assignment with potential for extension to permanent. The role focuses on delivering accurate, audit-ready financial accounts for the 2026/27 year and strengthening accounting processes.

You will work with the finance team and external auditors, owning key accounting activities and advising on technical issues, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT, and controls.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification preferred; strong QBE candidates considered.
• Experience in financial accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• VAT and financial compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of core financial accounting activities for the organisation.
• Support the 2026/27 financial accounts and year-end requirements.
• Complete detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support the audit process with external accountants.
• Review audit points and implement recommendations.
• Ensure robust financial controls and processes are in place.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and ensure compliance.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to the finance team.
• Coach and support junior staff as needed.
